Capitol Centre unveils new lounge name

The Capitol Centre has partnered with Savoir Faire Catering to rebrand the lounge on the main floor, formerly known as the Martini Lounge. The space inside the Betty Speers Theatre doors will now be known as Savoir Faire Catering’s Twenty Nine Lounge.

The new name was officially debuted at the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours which was hosted by the Capitol Centre last night in the lounge and WKP Kennedy Gallery.

The new name is a nod to the date the Capitol Centre- then the Capitol Theatre- was opened in 1929. The arts center is approaching its centennial in 2029. “We are already looking forward to our 100^th anniversary, so this renaming of the space and partnership with Savoir Faire is a great way to kick off the next few years leading up to a big celebration in 2029,” says Interim Executive Director, Dan Misturada. “We are so fortunate to have this historical building in our care, and we want to make sure it is here for many more decades.”

Patricia Spencer, Owner of Savoir Faire Catering, was on-hand providing mouth-watering charcuterie and desserts to the attendees of the gathering. “Over the past 10 years, Savoir Faire Custom Catering has enjoyed an exciting partnership with the Capitol Centre. We’ve provided catering for many artists as part of the catering sponsorship program, participated in many of the Fall Fundraisers (formerly the Wine Gala), and have donated prizes at events to help foster financial support” says Spencer.

Capitol Centre Manager of Sponsorship and Fund Development, Lisa Kruger, was happy to highlight the importance of such partnerships. “Having Business After Hours here, while we also showcase a wonderful new chapter in our partnership with Savoir Faire, is such a great time to talk about what we do here at the Capitol Centre. We have amazing programs that we can offer because of sponsors like Pat Spencer and so many more. Without them, we would not be able to offer things like Arts for All- a program that gets tickets into the hands of local service groups at no cost, operating the WKP Kennedy Gallery, which is free and open to the public, free family films, and also the day-to-day operation of the Capitol Centre.” The Capitol Centre provides a home to the North Bay Symphony String School, Digital Creators North, and local artists who have their studios within the building. Community groups like Dreamcoat, North Bay Pride, Haleyfest, North Bay Fringe Festival, Les Comagnons, and so many more, make use of Capitol Centre spaces to present their art to the community.

Savoir Faire Catering’s Twenty Nine Lounge will be in full-swing tomorrow night as the Capitol Centre kicks off the 2023-24 Season with The Last Waltz: A Musical Celebration of the BAND.
