“We held a fan vote a few weeks ago on social media to determine which movie franchise fans wanted to see here, and Harry Potter was the clear winner with over 50% of the votes!” says Kerri Morin, Marketing Manager at the Capitol Centre. “It’s a lot of films, 20 plus hours of combined runtime, so we had lots of discussion on how to present all 8 films, and this schedule was the result! We are very excited to be offering a fun-filled weekend to local Harry Potter fans, at no charge. Fans can catch as many of the movies as they’d like, but as a bonus, if they attend all 8 films, we have a special ‘I Survived the Ultimate Potter Weekend at the Capitol Centre” prize for them.”

Dan Misturada, Interim Executive Director and Director of Programming and Events, adds “We are always looking to try new things and to keep events as accessible to our community as we can, so we’re treating this just like our Free Family Films. No Tickets are needed, and everyone is welcome! If the weekend is a success, we hope to host this type of event with other film franchises as well. We hope to see lots of wizards and witches roaming the Capitol Centre in January.”
