Past Exhibit Ceramic Exhibition at WKP Kennedy
Things are starting to amp up here at the Capitol Centre. On Friday we have Abbamania at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are not available for purchase at our Box Office as this is a rental so please call 1-888-777-9793. It is selling fast.
On Saturday we will be celebrating a wedding on stage. The Betty Speers Theatre offers quite the dramatic backdrop to anyone’s special day so be sure to think of us if you are planning for a big event.
We also host events in the WKP Kennedy Gallery as well as the Galaxy Circle Lounge upstairs. This historic, 90-year-old building provides great character and charm, you just bring the guests!
Sunday Cinema features Three Identical Strangers at 7 p.m. Three identical men meet in New York in 1980. Having all been adopted, they soon learn they’re triplets who were separated at birth, which puts them on a journey to discover why. Tickets are $6 and both concession as well as the bar will be open. Look forward to seeing you out!
Our new Gallery Director/Curator, Alix Voz has installed a new exhibition featuring the Ceramic Art of Suku Park, an international ceramic artist who recently completed a residency in Kirkland Lake. His latest creations are now on display in the WKP Kennedy Gallery from to Oct. 12. Come check out this unique exhibition and meet Alix.
For a more “behind the scenes” update, you have likely noticed that our roof project is underway. We are excited for the new roof, however, it has posed some challenges regarding building access during the day.
For anyone wishing to visit the Redpath Box Office of the WKP Kennedy Gallery, please use the Main Street entrance. For the safety of our patrons (and staff) the McIntyre exit is closed during working hours for roof construction.
After 5 p.m. and on weekends, the back door entrance off McIntyre will be open. You will need to use the ramp that runs along the side of the building (near the loading doors) to access the building. The stairs just next to the back door will be fenced off.
We anticipate this work will be underway for the next two months and certainly appreciate your patience and understanding as we give this building the TLC it so very much deserves. Patrons should plan a little extra time for parking as some of our parking lot is blocked off for the construction. There are several other municipal lots in close proximity.
