New Mural at the Northgate Shopping Centre
We were so happy to be asked yet again to make another spot at the Northgate Shopping Centre. This time the WKP Kennedy Gallery along with our two wonderful volunteers Corbin and Ivy, painted the windows of the now vacant Gap storefront located right next to the food court. Due to the nature of window painting, we decided on a simplistic, imaginative design that really came to life once we started painting. We knew the core elements we wanted; a giant hand, geometric triangles, woodland creatures, and botanical imagery. What happened next was the beautiful result of great teamwork and truly talented artistry. We each took on one of these core elements and went to town painting to our hearts' content as the elements took shape. The public was thrilled to see us painting through the glass and many sat down outside the Gap windows to watch the mural take shape. It was a wonderful experience to see the happy eyes of the community taking a moment to get lost in the art of making. We have one more mural in the works at the Northgate Shopping Centre so make sure to watch out for more fun designs in the New Year! Thank you to our volunteers and the shopping center security staff for making this happen. We couldn't have done it without you!
