Digital Exhibition Pairs French-Canadian, French-African Artists

On the heels of a successful opening reception for Beth Jackson’s Ordinary Pleasures, the WKP Kennedy Gallery invites the public check out Bravo’s digital exhibition Pentadécagone.

Bravo (the Office of the Visual Artists Cluster of Ontario/Bureau des regroupements des artistes visuels de l’Ontario) has been a non-profit organization since 1991 intent on representing French-speaking Ontario artists.

In almost 30 years, Bravo has grown to 130 members split between four regions of Northern Ontario. Its focus on visibility for francophone artists has helped numerous professionals achieve their goals and gain proper recognition within their communities.

Pentadécagone runs until May 25 and features works from five French-Canadian artists paired with five French-African artists. Each pair shares a single idea or theme to create a piece that showcases a unique insight.

The pairs are Luce Marquis of Moonbeam, Ont., and Aminata Farmo of Niamey, Niger, Doris Lamontagne of Quebec City and Komi Seshie  of Lome, Togo), Laurent Vaillancourt  of Hearst, Ont., and Father Cyrille Rigobert Ogbabo of Bangui, Central African Republic, Raymond Aubin  of Gatineau, Que., and Zana Soro (Abidjan of Ivory Coast, and Nancy Brandsma of Ottawa and Kalula Kalambay of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
