NBSO presents: Homelands

Many composers have written works expressing a deep passion for their homelands. We present some of the most famous of these, including Sibelius’ Finlandia, Smetana’s Die Moldau, and Verdi’s Overture to Nabucco. Principal horn Gilles Thibodeau performs Jeff Christmas’ A Canadian Voyage, a musical portrait of various regions in Canada. Local composer Patricia Morehead has been commissioned to write a work in honour of North Bay's 100-year anniversary.
