Captiol Centre Presents

This year the 22 Wing Band celebrates the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Centennial. On November 23rd, 2024, the 22 Wing Band will perform in concert at the Capitol Centre at 7:30 PM. This show will take listeners on a journey through the history of the RCAF and the music that we remember fondly that accompanied us through those incredible times. We will be joined by the North Bay Pipes and Drums, the 'Girls in Pearls trio', as well as the Military Wives' Choir with the North Bay Choral Society. MCs for the evening will be Honorary Colonel Emeritus, Scott Clark and local celebrity, Lisa Boivin.

The groups will be playing a variety of music including swing, jazz, traditional blues, rock ‘n’ roll, military marches, and more recent popular music.

The 22 Wing Band is a unique organization at 22 Wing / Canadian Forces Base (CFB) North Bay. It was formed in 1990 primarily to support military ceremonial functions. The Band also supports many other events such as public concerts and charity benefits. The group consists of approximately 60 personnel who, with the exception of the Band Director, are volunteer musicians from all walks of life, both military and civilian. The band features a 16 Piece Stage Ensemble, Jazz Quartet and Brass Quartet.

Tickets can be purchased online at the website or at the box office. Proceeds from the concert will be going toward the Capitol Centre children's programming as well as the North Bay Military Family Resource Centre.
