April Update

By Dan Misturada, Interim Executive Director | April 15, 2021

April typically symbolizes a time of rebirth and a fresh start. As the first blooms begin to appear, we too are also looking to put the year behind us and start fresh with a focus on what we have to be thankful for.

We are very thankful for the very generous donation of 38 works of art that we recently received from an anonymous collector. These art pieces vary from beautiful paintings and drawings to sculptures, each one-of-a-kind. The donors also suggested that we consider auctioning off these pieces to raise funds to benefit our theatre and gallery. So that is exactly what we're doing!

POP OF COLOUR - Virtual Art Auction is LIVE and accepting bids: https://www.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/wkp-kennedy-gallery-art-auction-21819

Check it out, maybe place a bid or two! If you just can't decide on a piece of art but still want to help, you can make a donation to us right there on the site! So have a peek and see what you think! We will continue to accept bids and donations until April 28th.

We are also very thankful for our team of volunteers as we approach National Volunteer Week from April 18th to the 24th. We take great pride in saluting our Volunteers and we thank them for their tireless contribution in helping to make the Capitol Centre the fantastic place that it is.

Our team of seventy-five volunteers have always delivered first rate experiences to hundreds of thousands of patrons who have attended the events and exhibits at the Capitol Centre. They have served as ticket takers, ambassadors, ushers, coat check attendants, merchandise assistants, and much more! Our volunteers are the dedicated and ever-supportive champions of our organization.

And last, but certainly not least, we are extremely thankful for all our patrons, members, community partners, donors, sponsors, and subscribers. You are what keeps us going and the thought of having you all back at the Capitol Centre soon keeps us motivated and hopeful that better days lie ahead.
