'Rock, Paper, Scissors' Solo Exhibition by Annabelle Harvey

Rock, Paper, Scissors is an exhibition where ceramic meets collage, except this time, there are no winners or losers. What’s left is the most important part of the game: the play. 

Much like the classic schoolyard game, Rock, Paper, Scissors’s goal is to invite visitors to smile, laugh and participate in frivolous fun as a way to reunite with the wisdom of our inner child. When life presents itself with so much tragedy, uncertainty and turmoil, a possible way through it all is to reach for the magic that comes from the boundless imagination that the youthful spirit remembers so well. Tapping into creativity that knows no judgement or reason is the wisdom that exists within us.  

During this exhibition, visitors will have multiple opportunities to play themselves. Select a self-guided game of i-Spy or participate in a hands-on collage workshop to join the fun. Open to all skill levels, the workshop offers a chance to explore the playful surrealist techniques used in the show and create personal interpretations of what their inner child is called to.

About the Artist:

Annabelle Harvey, a mixed-media artist and passionate educator based in North Bay. Through vibrant and bold hues and playful approaches, Annabelle’s art aims to spark joy, curiosity and laughter. She believes in the profound ability of art to connect people and uplift spirits, seeing each piece as an invitation to engage with beauty, absurdity and whimsy. Beyond her personal practice, Annabelle is deeply committed to nurturing creativity in others. As a workshop facilitator, she creates an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, where participants of all ages and skill levels feel empowered to take risks and explore new techniques, fostering not just artistic growth, but a sense of community and shared creative adventure.
