Opening Reception: "'Urban Indigi-Nation' Group Exhibition

The WKP Kennedy Gallery in partnership with the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre present "Urban Indigi-Nation," a group exhibition consisting of Indigenous artists and makers, on display from June 16th - August 4th, 2023.

We will be hosting an opening reception for "Urban Indigi-Nation" on June 16th from 6-8pm, complete with complimentary refreshments and performances!

The premise of this show is to celebrate growth and resilience of how Indigenous people demonstrate their culture and roots within an ever-evolving environment. Indigenous makers have always been taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary as a way of expressing and celebrating an appreciation for our land, community and connections within our culture. As our contemporary environments shift and evolve, Indigenous artists continue to grow and adapt to continue the legacies of that which are integral to our resurgence; maintaining an active sense of presence and continuance of Indigenous stories.
